Gifts...to recieve or refuse

Last summer I went to Utah to help my parents move back into their home after living in Africa for 4 years. It was so fun going through all their stuff.. Memories flooded our minds... There was lots of laughter and a few tears shed. Unfortunately all of their belongings from Africa did not make it back to the states before I had to return home. So this last weekend I was able to see all of their amazing treasures. Their home is FILLED with beautiful handcrafted items. My mom is a room labeler...i.e. Antique room, this room has family heirlooms in it. Butterfly Room, this room is filled with different butterflies. But they have one room that is special above all other rooms... This is the room that we stay in while we visit.... it is called the AFRICA room! Really there are some cool pieces in there... it is alive and bright. It is a lot of fun... Today I want to share some of this fun with my friends! Go ahead and giggle... I did... in fact I laughed so hard I could no longer stand!

This is a beautiful wood carving of my parents... Or.. is that President Kimball?

This is a painting of my parents, It is really well done.... I just crack up at how funny they both look....

The gold teeth are the kicker here! I mean really some things should be photo shopped out... even in paintings.
One word....CONSTIPATION...

I guess the moral of this story my friends is... You can NEVER go wrong using a camera... Photogenic or not... You still look like you!

Faith Pots

Lately I have been thinking a lot about Faith... I used to think that we needed to plead with the Lord in showing our faith. I think that I was wrong.. As of late, something has changed inside of me... I have come to learn that we are to EXPECT MIRACLES! If we desire something to happen we need do all we can do to get this something and then place it in the Lords hands. HE WILL BLESS US WITH OUR WANTS AND NEEDS.

Tonight for Family Home Evening we had a lesson on Faith. While we painted our teracotta pots we talked about how Faith was something we knew how something would happen, or, was true without having something tangible to back it up. Each of us talked about things we had faith in. After our pots dried we went outside and planted seeds in our pots. Slowly but surely our seeds will grow... that is, IF we continue to care for them... Faith without works is dead. We have done our part and will continue to care for them... It is now the Lords turn to provide the miracle of life! Come on little flowers brightnen our day!

Painting our {Faith Pots}

First we need dirt.....
Second we plant the seeds....

More Seeds
Give them water... and EXPECT the MIRACLE!!!!

Marc has FAITh that we were meant to be an Eternal Family Unit.

Kiera has FAITH that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Jordie has FAITH that we lived before we were born.

Isaac has FAITH that Heavenly Father is True.

Ammon has FAITH that Heavenly Father is real and that He told us to be nice to each other.

Noah has FAITH that someone will care for him when he cries.

CHEE-JAY

I must be the luckiest Auntie in the whole wide world. This was a good weekend! I was able to take little Noah to Utah to meet his cousins... as well as his Great Grandma's and Great Aunts and Uncles...

I knew he would be smothered by Brooke, and Madi.. They had already warned me that they were going to hold him the whole time... However, I did not expect the interest and love that my 14 year old nephew, Taylor would show. It seemed like everytime I turned around TJ had him. I think that the bond was instint between the 2 of them.

Taylor and Ammon also have an unbreakable bond. Ammon loves him.. He wants to be like him.... Ammon had a hard time with his "T's" as a toddler. So instead of calling him TJ he said Chee-Jay. The name stuck!

There may be a time in little Noah's life they he needs the love an support of his family more than ever. TJ you have loved Noah from the very start... He will always know he can count on you to be his friend. I want to thank you Chee-Jay for your example to my boys. You are a great kid! As your big sister once said..."OH Tayor, I LOVE YOU!"

I am a HUGE fan of Jason Castro. Do I think he will win the title of American Idol? No. He doesnt bring something new each week. But he is constant... Each week I look forward to his performance. It is island like.... Islands are warm and sunny....

It's not warm and sunny here... It is cold and rainy AGAIN!

Captured...

About 2 weeks ago Noah started to smile in response to us. Well... really he loves to smile at Marc and Jordie. I have tried and tried to capture this darling smile on camera but have failed miserably. Marc was able to capture Mr. Noah Smiling last night. I am thrilled to present this smile to the world...

Is he not just so worth the wait?!?!?!

Donny and Marie

When I was a child I would watch the Donny and Marie Show with my brother and sister. We NEVER missed a week! Donny of course was going to be my eternal mate! And Marie... well she was the prettiest girl in the whole wide world. I had here in barbie doll form... I still remember the dress it came with. Purple with a shag bottom... simply dreamy!

Anyway... I found this clip on youtube today... After all these years the song finds its way to my forethought.

How I wish my kids had shows like this to watch... I mean really are they going to remember the theme song to Hannah Montana or Zack and Cody some 30 odd years later? I dont think so...

Oh and it is still cold today..... Wake up Spring....Where are you???

Open House

Grandma and Grandpa will be hosting an Open House at their home for little Noah! It will be Friday the 11th from 7-9pm. If you live in Utah and think you can make it...We would love to see you all there!
