Gifts...to recieve or refuse

Last summer I went to Utah to help my parents move back into their home after living in Africa for 4 years. It was so fun going through all their stuff.. Memories flooded our minds... There was lots of laughter and a few tears shed. Unfortunately all of their belongings from Africa did not make it back to the states before I had to return home. So this last weekend I was able to see all of their amazing treasures. Their home is FILLED with beautiful handcrafted items. My mom is a room labeler...i.e. Antique room, this room has family heirlooms in it. Butterfly Room, this room is filled with different butterflies. But they have one room that is special above all other rooms... This is the room that we stay in while we visit.... it is called the AFRICA room! Really there are some cool pieces in there... it is alive and bright. It is a lot of fun... Today I want to share some of this fun with my friends! Go ahead and giggle... I did... in fact I laughed so hard I could no longer stand!

This is a beautiful wood carving of my parents... Or.. is that President Kimball?

This is a painting of my parents, It is really well done.... I just crack up at how funny they both look....

The gold teeth are the kicker here! I mean really some things should be photo shopped out... even in paintings.
One word....CONSTIPATION...

I guess the moral of this story my friends is... You can NEVER go wrong using a camera... Photogenic or not... You still look like you!

Those are great! Seriously one of a kind. I give them props if they display them in their home. I'm not sure what I would do with a painting of myself let alone a wood carving!! I thought the whole point of a painting was to allow for photoshopping.

Hey Kiera, cute blog! Ryan and I have been trying very hard to narrow down a baby name and came to an understanding a few days ago. He broke down and agreed on Ella. I just wanted to make sure you didn't mind if we really do end up going with it. I'm glad our baby and Noah could get so well aquainted on Sunday... :)
