I picked up JoRdie PoRdie from school today...
Wish she wasn't feeling so sick.
She's no fun to play with when she feels yucky.

A need to Create

A couple of months ago Sam and I thought it would be fun to start a blog we could post our ideas and creations on. After watching this I feel inspired to start the blog. Sam and I are hoping to open this blog to many many friends and ideas! If you would like to be part of this blog where you can post your creations let me hear it!
We are also looking for the "PERFECT" name for our blog so let the creating begin! Share your ideas for a name and our community blog will be started on Monday!

Right on Schedule

Your 13-month-old: Week 4
Spirited and mild-mannered toddlers alike will experiment with ... how shall we say it? ... undesirable behavior. If your toddler indulges in fits of screaming, hitting, and biting, you can take some solace in knowing that his development is right on track. Discipline can be a challenge with kids this age, so try to build a little personal time into your schedule each week as a way to refuel your patience tank.

Family Home Evening Gone Bad.

I have this little blogger friend. I think she has a little crush on our Ammon... He is a bit young for her but hey Who here doesn't love Ammon? So Cortney's Sunday School class played a fun game... I thought it would be a super fun activity for family night... .
Here are the rules:
Someone starts a story and then the next person has to add a sentence and it goes around the room until the paper is filled up. The trick is that you can only ever see the one sentence before yours and the rest are hidden. It's pretty fun. So this week we were talking about encouraging one another so we made all the stories about people in the class.

Fun game huh? Here is how ours turned out...

The Best thing about Daddy is.
He has the Priesthood.
He goes to work so we can have many things.
He is smart and handsome.
He has big feet.
He wears glasses.
He can help me out about anytime.
And tickle me.
He is strong.
And I love him very much.

The Best thing about Mom is.
She gets us ready for school.
She is very beautiful.
She is very nice.
She has hair.
She is pritty.
But she laughs weird.
And has a cute nose.
She loves to walk.
And loves to ride a bike.
Has smelly feet.
That smell like pine trees.

The Best thing about Jordie is.
That she is 8 and baptized.
She is sweet and smart.
She knows her ABC's
Her ears can work.
She has beautiful hair.
She is sweet as sugar.
She has crazy dances.
And stinky farts!
Ya Right!
But oh, what an amazing personality.
And knows how to cheer people up.

The best thing about Isaac is.
He love to have fun.
And talk in a crazy voice.
And doing silly dances.
But only on Tuesday.
On Friday they want to sleep on the chair in Mom and Dad's room.
They like to jump on the tramp.
And to swing on the swing set.
And jump on the tramp.
In his purple sweater.
He as a eye.

The best thing about Ammon is.
He can cheer me up when I am sad.
He makes super silly faces!
He is funny.
He tickles me and Isaac.
Between our tows.
He has a gross thing between his toes.
He has glasses.
And looks very handsome in them,
And looks handsome in a tie.
But looks better in a skirt!

The best thing about Noah is.
He knows how to make us laugh.
He likes to spit.
He has the best laugh.
He is cute.
His toe nails are long.
And painted pink and white polka dot.
He has brown hair.
He wears his shoes almost the whole day.
And has soft, supple feet!
That smells like flowers!

We had a really fun time as we added our ideas. Too bad Jordie and Ammon took it too personal and stormed off steaming mad! Nothing like a happy FHE!
Thanks Cortney!!!

What's a Mother to Think?

ME: What's this Ammon?

AMMON: A picture of you when you were pregnant with ALL of us.

ME: Is that me?

AMMON: Yep... you had a big belly.

ME: Where am I in this picture?

AMMON: In the Hospital.

ME: What is that "GB" for?

AMMON: Oh that means Good Job.

ME: Oh nice.

AMMON: I love you Mom.

Seriously.. is my kid not a Rock Star?!?

My belly may be a bit questionable.. but hey I have 4 kids in there right?

Spring Break is over.
My Baby Birds have left the nest
& are back at school.
The house is quiet with Noah Boy and Me...
Wish he talked more.

Roller Coaster ride up ahead... NO WAITING.

I didn't even know I had been waiting in line for the ride.
Well, maybe I did.
I guess I have been hoping to have this blessing fall from the heavens without taking the ride. We have rode before and it is not always tummy tickling. You see, this particular ride started at 10 am on Friday morning... I checked my email. It read something like this...
"AA girl born yesterday. Healthy. Mother can not parent at this time. Father left Mother when he found out she was pregnant. Mother would like a open adoption with letters and email updates. Please contact us if you are interested in this situation."
The "open adoption" should have been the clue... We are not open to an open adoption...But, the clacking on the cart on the tracks had already started... Click Clack Click Clack... Up my heart soared with the idea... A baby girl... Up Up Up it went. You can't just turn around once the train has started. You have to see it through.
We had not heard from this agency for almost 18 months. They did send us a situation last week. Not one that interested us. We had pretty much written them off... I guess our profile had resurfaced and the were hoping to help us out with a match.
My Marc-a-Roni, he is more careful. He only rides the rides he chooses. Me? I cant keep off them. I seem to hop right on and pull down the lap bar. I don't even glance back...
Of course we were not chosen to parent this baby girl... I'm sure her birth mother chose the perfect mom and dad for her. The mom and dad our Heavenly Father had in mind. It seem to work out that way... little spirits making it into the family God has chosen for them. I was just hoping it was us.
For a short time we were quite specific in the wants of our heart. We wanted a African American baby GIRL. But who were WE to ask for that? If we had stated that with our Noah... We would not have him. And OHHHH what a blessing this sweet boy is. I sure wouldn't want to miss out on another child because I was stubborn with the desires of my heart. I knew the moment I saw him he had made it to his earthy "home."
Maybe Friday was my {wake up} call. Maybe our Heavenly Father was reminding me to enjoy my ride. To be open to every situation. Show our commitment maybe... It doesn't really matter if the baby is dressed in PINK or BLUE... What matters is that once again Our Heavenly Father has made sure the RIGHT spirit has found the right earthly family.

While Blog Strolling I found a PINK DOLPHIN. Isn't it pretty?

Jordie Girl was so surprised to find a PINK PRAYING MANTIS in her latest issue of Ranger Rick. As yucky as I think Praying Mantis's are... I would not mind having this beauty in my garden.

I am tickled PINK just at the site of my favorite Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag. If I could justify the price I would have one for my very own.

Just the other day my Wise Father reminded me that sometimes Heavenly Father gives us the desires of our heart... My desires are two fold.
First... I would be so grateful to be a mother to another child.
Second... It sure would be neat if she wore Pink!
If I were blessed with just my first desire I would be thrilled over the moon!

Something Green

My Grandma B has a best friend. They live on the same street. They have as long as I have been alive. In fact they have been there almost as long as my mom has been alive. To the family Granda B's best friend has always been our "Aunt Nellie" We love Aunt Nellie. She's not really our Aunt. She is the only Aunt I put the title{Aunt} before their name. I heard my mom say just a few months ago that she didn't know she wasn't really her Aunt until she was older. Silly isn't it? Not knowing who is your blood relation. I find it doesn't really matter.
This past year I have caught myself referring to my closest friend as "Aunt Cheryl." I'm not sure when she earned the title. She didn't do anything out of the normal this year. See, she has always love our children. We met when Jordie was only a month old. She has been there through every pregnancy, every delivery, every false labor, every heart ache. Really, everything. She has taught our kids how to dip their fries in ranch. Shared chapstick with Ammon... even if it was just for him to eat and lick on. Changed more diapers for me then she should.
It is St. Patty's day today and we needed to make a visit to "SOMETHING GREEN" I knew just the spot. It is really Cheryl's Spot. Today we visit the green chair at the temple site! With out Aunt Cherly's obsession with the new temple we may have never known about the nasty green Naugahyde chair that points the direction of the temple.

If you would like to learn more about Cheryl's chair click on the Temple Chaser button!

I found this quiz on line last night. The test was fun to take and the style I was labeled as was spot on. I guess it should be since I picked the picture I liked the best! Right?

{You are SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON}
OK, you may not have been shipwrecked on a desert island, but you home is full of furniture, objects and bric-a-brac from around the world. You have an easy knack of mixing your finds while nonchalantly dealing with the practical need of a family: your home is packed with interesting things; it’s welcoming and-above all- it’s you.

Take the test and tell me your style!

So the next time you come to play please bring your ostrich and we will have races together on the beach!

As We Stand For What Is True And Right... HE Stands At Our Side

"The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”

All I Want Is A Room Somewhere...

I have always been a fan of the musical "My Fair Lady" I found this picture on a {blog stroll} a few days ago...
My heart fluttered..... This was the small cottage hovering the earth where I could hide from my worldly cares.
Wouldn't that be neat?
When a cup of sticky kool aid is spilled on the freshly mopped kitchen floor? I could just pack up for the day and head to my little cottage... Or when the dog confuses the carpet with the backyard? Where can I go? Oh to my cottage... The fence needs to be stained this spring... You can find me at the cottage!
Wouldn't it be Loverly?
As much as I would love to have a home that backs up to a beautiful wooded area where the perfect tree stood for my little cottage, we don't. I also know that the floor would be nasty sticky if ran to my cottage before I cleaned it up.
So, I have created a little plan. I am going to stay right here... In my house full of tasks. But my heart? I am going to let her flee to the cottage. She can run and play... I know she will tell me of her adventure when she returns.
She's good like that!

What a Treat.

Saturday, February 14, 2009 I attended a session at the Accra Ghana temple with my Father. It was a sweet experience. I was so grateful I could end my African adventure in the temple. I was in awe of its beauty inside. The colors we soft and peaceful. I was amazed at the original artwork on display as we walked the halls. The gold leafing was exact. Kente cloth pattern was found around every corner. The stained glass resembled the traditional Kente. Never before have I attended a temple where I found more tradition and culture displayed in the design.
I am most grateful to be able to attend the temple. I am grateful to be able to be a service to my sisters on the other side of the veil. This particular session I was able to serve a sister who lived over a hundred years ago in Missouri. I was almost giddy when I saw Missouri of all places on my card!
Maybe this was my favorite part of the trip.
